There are three main types of boiler to consider when thinking about how your home and hot water is heated: Combination, Conventional, and System.
Combination (Combi) boilers only heat the water you need, so they’re an economical, space-saving option – ideal for smaller homes that don’t need to run multiple taps at once.
Conventional boilers suit larger homes. They require a cold water tank and a hot water cylinder, with an immersion back-up if the boiler breaks down.
System boilers also work with a hot water cylinder, but have more components built in, making them a neater, more efficient option with pumped hot water for lower running costs.
